I Speak For The Land!

I have not seen the new version of “The Lorax”. This picture is not meant to endorse this version if it was really bad.
Today’s Daily Prompt: You’re given a plot of land and have the financial resources to do what you please. What’s the plan?
I would hope to be given a piece of land with trees, grass, wildlife, flowers and maybe a creek or river nearby.
If I got land with those features, I would use my financial resources to keep it just that way.
It seems to me that places to relax are getting harder and harder to find, and in the future with development who knows where you will be able to find a park or what state the current ones may end up in.
I can live in an apartment or house wherever, but finding a special place to commune with nature is harder to replace.
5 This many people loved/liked this post!“Catch! calls the Once-ler.
He lets something fall.
It’s a Trffula Seed.
It’s the last one of all!
You’re in charge of the last of the Truffula Seeds.
And Truffula Trees are what everyone needs.
Plant a new Truffula. Treat it with care.
Give it clean water. And feed it fresh air.
Grow a forest. Protect it from axes that hack.
Then the Lorax
and all of his friends
may come back.”–The Lorax, by Dr. Seuss

Ah to really open up and let yourself learn from nature… it is an experience unlike any other. One of the reasons I love camping and backpacking ever summer is because it is one of the few times during the year when I feel like I’m learning something wortwhile, and no matter how many times I venture into the wild there will always be more to learn, about myself, and about the world.
I regret that I don’t get to have those moments as much as I would like, but when Matthew goes to his dad’s for the summer, that is all he does. He is a Country Mouse (or a Mountain Mouse) being raised by a City Mouse.
